The young coati predators are boas, raptors, cats, and tayras. The adults have fewer predators. They are very flexible. You will recognize them for their long tail.
They eat fruits and vegetables. They also eat small rodents,lizard, snakes, and frogs.
Coati lives in a range of forests, from temperate oak and pine forests to deciduous and lowland tropical rain forests. It is even sometimes seen in deserts and savannas. They are mostly found on road sides. The national parks are: La Selva, Corcovado National Park, Santa Rosa National Park, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Children’s Eternal Rainforest; may also be found in San Jose and Cerro de la Muerte.
